Electricity Essentials
Posted on October 29, 2009
Energy Link this month ran its first ever “Electricity Essentials” course for buyers of electricity. The course was held at the Otago Chamber of Commerce offices in Dunedin, and covers “what you absolutely need to know if you purchase electricity, whether on your own or using a consultant”. The course ran for one morning and covered how the electricity market works, who the retailers are, how to understand line charges and retailers’ pricing plans, and how to obtain the best range of offers for supply. The course was well received and the feedback was very positive. As I write this, course participants are busy applying their new knowledge and skills to reduce their respective organisations’ electricity spending. Greg Sise, Managing Director
